Arminian-Lollard

The condition of our faith is horrible. Profaned by carnally subversive odes to The World. Blaspheming Christ as a never-do-well. While man is blinded to himself. Claiming duty to preach to the postmodern on their terms. Degraded in naivete goes stewardship spreading the gospel. There is no one in the Western hemisphere that has not heard of Christ and not been invited to join him. Nor all others for that matter, but why the revisioning? Which means individuals purposefully reject him. Surely your lofty Calvinism knows better then to rationalize that. While our denominational institutions compete for a rationalization of their postmodern existence. Yes we use that term in a concrete non-academic fashion... the Lollardy. In your isolated scholar in an ivory tower mode the bureaucracy doesn't notice; while they dream of election and grace. Cultivating vain imaginings of intellectual theory. Methodist, Lutheran, Anglican -- all in spiritual warfare with the Papist. Deceived to blindness in Ecumenism's affairs. At a loss of the Priesthood of All Believers. Anti-Catholic and anti-Judaic-- were devoted. Equally they are in disdain for an indignation divinely against them.  And in postmodern fashion that realization is no longer valid. Here me Aquarius new age? I am bigotries exclusion and intolerance. With the Magna Carta -- civil servants yield to their master. Of that same blessed Christ spirit so doth the cleric. Behold Western man your guilt was to no avail. The Church has already been established despite us. As you will soon find particular Africans and Asians extolling the Protestant faith. If only you'd recognize your heritage ye Anglican Communion. Indeed all of Protestantism.

 Praise Christ in liberty.

Hello,

Greetings and good wishes.

Great thoughts and fascinating pictures.

Modern man is allured with money and they think money is everything and they willfully neglect the soul.

Excellent post.

As regards, your query in my blog, please note it is a Catholic Church and not Anglican.

Best wishes,
Joseph

They changed the format. One could follow by a mechanism that was at the top left of the screen. It is no longer there. I cannot put the other module on, because i will not update the look of my weblog. I will ponder that though.

I enjoyed your topic here.

But I have to take issue with this phrase:

"Praise Christ in liberty."

Isn't this an oxymoron? Like calling yourself a 'Christian liberal' or (as Pain accused Burke of doing with his 'reflections') "the darkness illuminates the light"?

What I mean is, if Christianity (or any of the Abrahamic faiths for that matter) is founded on Aristotelian ethics (i.e. his teleological structure, about 'how' to lead the good life), doesn't this render it completely incompatible with the enlightenment philosophies? Especially liberalism.

The enlightenment liberals call for the rejection of aristotelian ethics, and instead call for a neutral state. None of which is possible from a judeo-christian ethical viewpoint.

So, how can anyone possibly be 'praise Christ in liberty'?

Especially if, like me, you are a gay man which the teachings of the testaments say I should be sent to hell for.

There is no contradiction in praising Christ in liberty; though one may, doubt or deny. Those not 'free-will men'; may not want such a responsibility as liberty in Christ. As for homosexuals... take your postmodern place. There was absolute necessity that a 'culture war' was maintained' by participants on Western Protestantism's side.

I am not overly intellectual... your words fly over my brain. I had that talent years ago... before I found and accepted Christ's love, mercy, grace-all from Him dying for all to take on our sins. Wipe our slate clean. I see how all countries can have ability, do have ability to praise and worship Him in liberty-- as for over the years we as people in every country took over God's guidance and played earthly God's that control faith in Him. But in reality-He gives all countries, peoples hearts within to still praise Him, no matter their laws--He is the final law--who took the laws on to be able to forgive us all and be right with God. So many countries have laws against any faith and worship for Him-but it is up to us, in our hearts-to choose liberty and freedom thru Him--and still stand for Him thru all and in front of all--even if it means being killed for one's One True Faith!! He is The Way--we have to choose to not listen to selfish controlling laws-listen only to Him, for Him, thru Him--to reach Him.
As I said-- your words fly over my brain that has been surgically resected 3 times--and He was the Master Surgeon. My words in time have depleted -yet Christ still loves and accepts me thru all that--saved me from selfish denial and death. I will not be quiet about Him... I will always openly praise Him... no matter what is to come!!
I pray I had some understanding what you meant behind liberty-- I only see freedom and liberty thru Him, worshipping, accepting Him-no matter what country. He is our law--that saves us from the laws of continual sin. He is our Savior. He is The One. Alpha Omega, Only One, Only Way.

Bless you thru all....

In Christ's Grip,

Madam Siebens, that is why former Western man was not condemned by God; but by himself.
I declare this not only in the historical affinity of a mere social condition; but an affinity with the redemption of Christ: whether universal or limited atonement in the context of natural law.
When man thinks his will futile; he has not resisted evil. Do men not pray?
It is clear that a Protestant has a law that men--even those professing Jesus--cannot conceive nor concoct.
Nigeria has a defeated common law system; invaded by Islamic law. The Protestant needs to understand that why they themselves, or those living in former societies of such; are failing.
